ST PETER IN CHAINS (VINCOLA) 10 5 07

 

After we visited the Colosseum, we decided to walk the “short” distance to St. Peter in Chains Church. This is a minor basilica but contains a statue of Moses by Michelangelo. Fr. Marvin had mentioned it to me. Several false turns and trails later we arrived hungry, thirsty, exhausted and footsore. But the Church was closed. We had forgotton to check the ‘open” times. Many smaller churches in Rome are closed for 3 hours in the afternoon.
